Attention all WAHM’s!!!

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

Hey all…

We’re having an “Autumn Faire”  at my church, and I will have a table of homemade baby stuff…slings, pillowcase dresses, little aprons, dolly slings and the like. If you would be willing or interested in donating any of your baby wares to our table, it would be marvelous. I know many of you make amazing baby stuff, and I’d really like an opportunity to have your stuff on my table! :)

All proceeds go towards my nursery ministry at church so we can buy the last few things we really need. :)

thank you ladies!!!

Funny how a move prompts you to really declutter and purge. I’m convinced that it isn’t some instinctive urge associated with moving, but rather the thought that yes, you really do have to move all that crap.

Everything I’ve packed has been greatly pondered. “Do I love this enough to pack it, move it, and unpack it?” Usually, I’ve said NO, and as a result have made a bit of cash on craigslist, donated to charity, and have somehow filled the trashcans to the brim this week. Yeah, I’m sure thats not very “green” of me, but at least I know that I’m simplifying and I feel confident saying I wont aquire this much CRAP again.

Homeschooling surrounded by boxes isnt fun. I’m counting down the days at this point just so I can enjoy space and efficiency again. I hate how disorganized I feel. Hate it.  If nothing else though, it definately motivates me to maintain a decluttered, organized home once we’re there. It gets tough when school starts to keep things the way I like them, but I’m more motivated than ever to bless my family with a house that feels good to live in.

In the meantime though, I’ll continue to lighten the load and make every effort to maintain *some* peace in this house. I’ve never been more convinced that a persons home is (or should be) of great comfort. An oasis from the rest of the world. I cant wait to reclaim my life and find comfort again!!

So in the event that anyone *is* left…

Figure I should update. :)

It’s September…can you believe that!? School officially starts on Thursday, but we’ve been trying to get moving on some work today. We did a bit of school yesterday (the girls and I anyway) but today all three knocked out some stuff. The kids seem to be pretty ready to get back to work, and honestly, so am I.

I’m still with the virtual academy, which I’m not super tickled about, but until I can iron out a few details, it will remain a part of our lives. I’m doing more of a Charlotte Mason-esque approach, however…even if I’m still bound to the state by technicality. :)

So lets see…maybe I should do a list. A list of the top ten things going on in my life right now.

1.) I’ve memorized the entire new Miley Cyrus CD. If I didnt know better, I’d think Libby Lu threw up all over my childs room. Hot pink and glitter have taken over. For what its worth, “Simple Song” on the CD is actually a pretty brilliant song.

2.) I wore shorts this summer for the first time in about 7  years. Big stuff for me.

3.) I took over the nursery at my church, which has been a complete blessing. My ministry is growing by leaps and bounds, and I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity from people around me. I took the nursery with nothing more than a pack and play for equipment and now have an entire nursery FULL of just about everything I need. Now I just need somewhere to store it all as I have to pack it out every Sunday and its currently taking up at least half of my square footage.

4.) Ms. Trin and I celebrated our birthdays in August, and it was a complete blast. I will never forget how simply fabulous the time together was. The girl wears pink well, which is good when you spend 2 hours in Libby Lu. I think my daughter is officially growing up. Her interests have switched from Disney Princesses to “Pop Princesses” and it has all taken me a bit by surprise.

5.) I got a new mop. Microfiber wet/dry dust mop thing. Its pretty amazing.

6.) Got a new bed. :O I havent slept this well in like, well, forever. Serta perfect sleeper. Highly recommend it.

7.) My husband blew me away this summer. He lost fifty pounds. FIFTY pounds! I’m so proud of him, and I know he’s going to keep going.  I’m proud of myself too, because I never once acted evil towards him out of jealousy.

8.) I’m on a grilled cheese kick. Have been for a while now. Cheap, tasty, comforting.

9.) I’m decluttering, in a major way. I’m talking reducing my possessions by at least half. Craigslist has become a part time job for me lately, lol. It’s been easy to do when I consider the question, “do I love it enough to pack it, move it, and unpack it?” Usually the answer is no. This brings me to …

10.) Yes, that was a lame segue. SO yeah, I’m moving. in 25 days. Doubling my square footage, adding a bedroom, classroom, formal dining room, sun room, and POOL.  Oh, and I’ll have THREE bathrooms. That means my kids will have their own…away from anything anyone will see on a regular basis. ;P

We’re moving to a gorgeous neighborhood in a town I’ve always wanted to live in. The hubs will be walking distance from work, and will walk or bike ride every day. He’ll also come home for lunch. :) More time with him will be so nice. He’s such a devoted hard working man which is a major blessing, the only down side being I dont see him as often as I’d like. That extra 30 minutes will be so refreshing I think. We’ll be 1/4 of a mile away from fishing, and in the perfect “lets take a walk” area of town. I’m so happy, and feeling beyond blessed. 25 days is going to feel like an eternity!

With that said, I should get back to sorting, purging and packing. Miley will motivate me I’m sure. She’s always good for that. Pass the glitter.

So, its September. I dont know when I blogged last, but its been a while.

Maybe I should just make this a test.

Yeah.

 Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep:

This is a test. It is only a test. In the event that this were an actual blog post, it would be followed with comments and giggles.

This is a test by the lamest-blogger-ever-administration in order to see if I even have any readers left.
