Quirky Cookbook Giveaway!

Went through my cookbook cabinet today and pulled a few gems out for ya’ll. :) Thought I would do a giveaway contest. Winner gets every book in the bunch! You MUST have quirky cookbooks. They are so fun to read.

Up for grabs is:

Sunset Fresh Ways With Chicken (so many odd pictures in this one.)

Step By Step Microwave Cooking With Kids (Oh My GOSH…hilarious.)

Cooking For Kids “Winning Recipes” (hot dog shaped like an octopus anyone?)

Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook (This is the original printing in a new book. Kinda fun. I use my old grease splattered one more.)

In the Kitchen The Costco Way (Fun, fresh recipes in this one, really. Nothing quirky about it, now that I think about it…but a great book.)

Justin Wilson’s Cook Book. (Written in a cajun accent. SO FUN to read.)

Just look at this guy. You have to have this in your kitchen. The candles on his table alone are worth owning the book.

And last but not least, the little one on the bottom that is made with a typewriter and bound together with ribbon. I think its called The Cookie Jar. It has a great recipe called “aggression cookies”. I have two, otherwise I wouldn’t surrender it.

How to play:

Comment this post answering this question:

Winner will be selected randomly, not based on the answer. :) I will run this contest for a week. Contest closes Wednesday June 13, 2012 at noon.  Winner will be announced next Wednesday afternoon.

 Have fun!

I’m so glad I do not have to be witty to have a chance @ winning :P This should be fun!

My favorite cookbook is, um, Allrecipes.com…lol! But if I had to choose an actual book it would have to be either Eat Well Stay Well, or Better Homes Cookbook. I love EWSW because it gives information on main ingredient you are using.

I need to look into that Nikki! I have been using my Nourishing Traditions cookbook alot lately, but I find that I dont enjoy alot of their recipes. Hate to say it, but true.

My favorite cookbook is “The Essence of Chocolate” because really? I have to explain that? The wise woman can figure that out by herself. ;)

I also enjoy “Extending the Table” cookbook because of its world views and inexpensive meals.

  5. Andrea Says:

I am intrigued by both titles!

my favorite cookbook is a recipe book that my mother put together. full of recipes she liked and a lot of them hand written by her which is WHY I LOVE THAT BOOK…. Of course my older brother has is so i must wait my turn and then you must wait your turn……. all biases aside i also really enjoy Julia Childs, mastering the art of french cooking simply because i see her in my video memory bank preparing her legendary recipes her legendary way…. Ok, i’m your mom, so i can’t win, which is fine.. but fun anyway……

  9. Andrea Says:

    Julia was the best. Hands.Down.

Really? I think we should take a vote…can mom be entered to win? LOL!

My favorite cook book is, first my mother’s recipe book most recipes are written by her own hand, awesome book of great recipes and family favorites. My second favorite cook book is ‘Cooking With Josephine’ by Josephine Araldo: Execellent French recipes and especially the sauces in her book. Nice and fun lady as I did have a signed copy after taking one of her French Cooking Classes.. alas, that signed copy is lost and hopefully someone that loves to cook ended up with it. Amazon.com $9.00 plus shipping but a great value and easy to follow great french cooking…
Sorry I don’t qualify as I am the U/GU of the blog’er! Bummer, as I would surely have won.. Ha.. Hugs and Love, glad to see you back on this blog..

My favorite cookbook is the Mary Engelbreit’s Queen of the Kitchen Cookbook. All the recipes are simple but that is not the reason why it’s my favorite. It’s the classic art work of Mary Engelbreit. Front to back you get to enjoy her drawings. PLUS….practically every recipe has a picture of what the end result should look like….very important for folks like me who NEED visuals. Hmmmm….maybe I should actually try out one of these recipes.

ha!! I know all too well what you mean, Shannon. I have SO many cookbooks that I have really never read, let alone tried,
so you are ahead of me!!
