Reason number 4,848 why I love homeschooling…

Trinity just started a segment on compound words. “It’s a hat you wear in the sun, its a sunhat.”, etc.

We just got back from the library (our weekly trip) and I stopped to get the kids each a little treat. Trin asked for a cheeseburger from McD’s. I agreed, because I’m just tickled pink that she’s eating any sort of red meat, even if their burgers are mostly camel. :P

Anyway, she’s sitting here sort of pep-talking herself, and says “I’m eating well!  I’m eating my burger well! SO well…”

Then I see a light bulb flash above her head, she looks at me and says…

“SO well…I’m doing SWELL!”

I would have never put that together, but I totally dig her brain. :)

One of our inside jokes is “Scare Crow!!”

It comes from ME! It was only about a year ago that I figured out that a scarecrow SCARES CROWS!!

So, now, anytime someone says something that should be terribly obvious, we all look at that person and yell, “SCARECROW!!”

It’s also rather fun to see other people’s faces, because they just DON’T get it!

    :)

Piper is cute! I wouldn’t have gotten that either, but um, “Scarecrow!”
